8 medium tart apples, peeled and quartered
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. red-hot candies

Directions:
Directions:
Place apples and water in a 5 qt. saucepan; cover; cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes or until apples are tender; mash the apples.
Add sugar and candies; cook, uncovered, until sugar and candies are dissolved.
Remove from the heat; cool.
Refrigerate until serving.
