1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 T. milk
2 c. all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
additional sugar to sprinkle on top of cookies

Preheat oven to 350º. Use cookie sheets

In mixing bowl, cream together sugar and shortening.
Add egg to creamed mixture; mix well.
Add melted chocolate; mix well.
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; mix well until batter is smooth.
Use a cookie scoop or drop from a teaspoon onto cookie sheet.
Flatten cookies with bottom of a glass.
Sprinkle cookies with sugar.
Bake in 350º oven for 9 minutes.
