2 c.. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
2 T. shortening
1/2 c. honey
2 tsp.salt
2 pkg. dry yeast (4 1/2 tsp.)
1/2 c warm water
5-6 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal and shortening in a large bowl. Cool. Mix in honey and salt. Dissolve yeast in warm water., add to the oatmeal mixture. Beat in 2 c. flour until mixture is smooth. Add remaining flour. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled. Shape into loaves. Place in greased loaf pans and let rise until doubled.
Bake at 375 for 40- 50 minutes.
