1/4 t soda
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 t water
1 T & 1 1/2 t butter

1/2 c water
3/4 c sugar
1/2 c corn syrup (light)
1 c peanuts (raw)

Directions:
Directions:
Butter baking sheet. Combine soda, water & vanilla set aside. Combine sugar, 1/2 c. water and & corn syrup in lg. sauce pan. Cook over med. heat, stirring occasionally until small amount of syrup dropped into very cold water forms a soft ball which flattens when removed from water. Stir in butter & peanuts.

Cook, stirring constantly, until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into hard threads that are brittle. Watch carefully so mixture does not burn. Immediately remove from heat, stir in soda, mix thoroughly. Pour onto sheet. Quickly spread 1/4 in. thick. Cool. Break into pieces.
