1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. beer
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves, ground
3 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
2 c. cut-up dates

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in the order given. Bake in a large pan, 13 x 9, which is greased and floured. Bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hours depending on oven at 350 degrees, or until toothpick poked in middle comes up clean.
