9 oz. margarine (Mom always used Blue Bonnet and they don't taste the same with anything else!)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
4 cups plus 2 T flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs and mix. Stir in baking soda and salt. Add flour gradually and mix well, you may have to use your hands.

Chill dough for 1 hour.

Working with a baseball size chunk at a time, roll out thinly on a floured surface.(this dough is meant to be THIN!)

Cut into desired shapes and sprinkle with colored sugar.

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes, until slightly brown around the edges.

Remove from cookie sheet to cool.

This makes about 8 dozen cookies! Recipe may be halved.
