1 3/4 C. sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 C sugar
1/3 C soft shortening or butter
2 eggs unbeaten
1/2 C chopped nuts ( optional)
1 C mashed ripe bananas

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour baking powder, soda and salt. Cream together sugar, shortening and eggs for three minutes.; Add bananas,flour and nuts mixture. Beat until smooth

Pour into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake one hour at 350º or until done ( insert toothpick or knife in center and if it comes out clean the bread is done)

Cool on cake rack. Store overnight before slicing.
