4 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp milk or cream

Cream butter until very soft. Add sugar gradually, blending thoroughly. Add vanilla. Thin with milk until right consistency to spread. Makes enough icing to cover top and sides of 8 X 8" cake
