1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c chopped pecans
1 ½ c packed brown sugar
½ c whipping cream or half & half
1-3 T. rum, amaretto or other liquor
*1 T cornstarch (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy medium sauce pan over medium heat. Slowly whisk in brown sugar until all the sugar is dissolved. Then whisk in vanilla and cream. Whisk in pecans and cook for 3 minutes, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and add liquor.
*If you want a thicker sauce add cornstarch to sugar before adding to butter.
