Cocoa
Red Food Coloring
Shortening
Sugar
Eggs
Buttermilk
Flour
Salt
Vanilla
Vinegar
Baking Soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and set aside
3 tbsp cocoa
2 oz red food coloring

Cream
1/2 cup shortening
1-1/2 cup sugar

Add
Coloring paste (above) and 2 eggs. Beat well.
Add
1 cup Buttermilk
2-1/2 cups flour (sift 3 times)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Mix well - stir in by spoon 1 tbsp vinegar. When well blended, add 1 tsp soda. Mix well and bake in (3) 8 inch well greased and floured pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350
