Pineapple slices
Butter
Brown Sugar
Shortening
Sugar
Eggs
Flour
Baking Powder
Salt
Milk
Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 3 tbsp butter in cake pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar. Arrange 4 or 5 slices of pineapple in pan. Cover with batter and bake 350º for 45 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes and turn out.

Cake Batter
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 cup flour
2-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Cream 1/3 cup shortening, 2/3 cup sugar until fluffy. Add 1 beaten egg. Sift together 1-1/2 cup flour, 2-1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, add alternate with 2/3 cup milk and 1 tsp vanilla. Stir enough to blend.
