4 egg whites
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp almond extract
½ C butter
¼ tsp cream of tartar
1 C sugar
1 package (1 C) semisweet chocolate chips
4 egg yolks
2 T corn syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites, tartar and salt until stiff but not dry.

Add sugar gradually. Beat until mixed.

Drop by teaspooon onto brown paper. Cup center of egg mixture.

Bake at 275º for 50 minutes. Cool and remove gently.

Mix chocolate and butter. Melt over hot water.

Combine yolk and syrup.

Beat into chocolate. Cook over water for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and beat until spreadable.

Add to center of egg whites. Can top with a nut or not.
