1-1/2 (3/4) cup shortening
2 (1) cup sugar
1/2 (1/4) cup molasses
2 (1) egg
4 (2) cups flour
4 (2) tsp. baking osda
2 (1) tsp. cinnamon
1 (1/2) tsp cloves
1 (1/2) tsp ginger
1/2 (1/4) tsp salt
2 (1) cup raisins
sugar to roll

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg, beat well. Combine flour, soda, spices and add to molasses mixture. Mix well, stir in raisins and cover and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 1 hour. Make into 1" balls , roll in sugar place on greased cookie sheets 2" apart. Bake at 350* for (9) minutes recipe calls for 10-12 minutes

**** We don't chill dough, roll right away and then we press down ball with glass dipped in sugar, we also don't grease cookie sheet*****
