1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers
1 egg
1 tbsp. mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. mustard
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. ketchup
1/2 tsp. thousand island dressing
hamburger buns
butter
American cheese slices

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients together and form into patties. Fry over medium-high heat until done and top with cheese.
Butter and toast the hamburger buns on a griddle. Top with burgers and serve.

I remember seeing daddy standing in the kitchen, hovering over a bowl and always wondering what he was putting into those special "Billy Burgers". I don't think he always stuck to the recipe, it all depended on what he found in the refrigerator, but they were always good.
