2-1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter-flavored Crisco
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package vanilla flavor instant pudding
2 eggs
1 pkg. (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (Ghiradelli is the best)
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and baking soda; set aside. Combine Crisco, sugars, vanilla and pudding mix in large mixer bowl or kitchenaide, beat until creamy. Beat in eggs; gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (batter will be stiff). Drop by heaping teaspoonful, about 2 inches part, onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 9 to 9-1/2 minutes or until browned.

Tip: leave cookies on baking sheet about 4 minutes before moving to cooling rack for chewier cookie.
