Ingredients:  
1 C brown sugar
1 1/2 C flour
1 tsp nutmeg or cinnamon
1/2 C shortening
1/2 Tsp baking soda
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 C chopped apples

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients together. make into balls and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375º for 12-15 minutes.

I first made this recipe because it was named Apple Jack :-). It is very tasty and has since become a family favorite. Great way to use soft apples.
