2 C Shortening
3 C Sugar
4 Eggs
5 1/2 C Flour
4 tsp Cream of Tartar
2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp Vanilla
Equal parts Sugar and Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, Sugar, and Eggs.
Combine dry ingredients. Add gradually to creamed mixture, then add vanilla.
Chill dough. 1-2 hours is fine. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 350 8 - 10 minutes

This is a Large recipe you may want to cut in 1/2 or I take 1/2 and roll into balls and freeze for another time. I use as much FLOUR as I can mix in and decrease the sugar to about 2 1/2 Cups, this makes softer cookies.
