1 Teaspoon Anise Extract
5 Cups Flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt

Directions:
Preheat Oven to 350ºF, Melt butter and let cool. Mix oil, butter, eggs, sugar, and anise in a mixing bowl. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Fold dry ingredients into egg mixture, mix until just combined. On a greased cooking sheet, sprinkle some flour so the dough will not stick. Now dump dough out into two piles. Shape each pile into logs that measure approximately 4x14x1. Bake for 30 minutes until light brown on top and center is set. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Slice loaves into 1" wide strips using a metal food scraper and turn on their sides. Lower oven to 225ºF. Place cookies back into oven for 20-30 minutes more. Remove cookies and let cool. Turn cookies upright again. Then melt chocolate with shortening and drizzle on top. Leave Biscotti on the counter until chocolate sets.
