1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 6 ox. pkg (1 cup) mile chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate pieces (melted and cooled)

Directions:
In mixer bowl, cream peanut butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy, Beat in egg and milk. Thoroughly stir together flour, salt, and soda. Stir flour mixture into peanut butter mixture - blend well. Chill dough 1 to 2 hours till firm enough to handle. Divide dough in half. Roll half the dough on lightly floured cloth to 10X8 rectangle. Spread with half the melted chocolate. Starting at long side, roll jelly roll style. Wrap in waxed paper and chill 30 minutes. Repeat with remaining half of ingredients.

Bake at 375 for 7 to 8 minutes.
