Want to clean your windows with something better than expensive commercial cleaners and fight dirt at the same time? Try this formula using ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.

Get out your box of cornstarch and start mixing. You know it as a great thickener for gravy and pie filling, but cornstarch is a timesaver all around your house. This natural kitchen staple work to clean glass and furniture, shampoo carpets, and even starch your shirts.

Mix 1/2 Cup White Vinegar and 1/2 Cup Ammonia into a bucket of warm water. Blend two tablespoons cornstarch into a few tablespoons of cold water until it's thoroughly mixed, then add to the bucket. Be sure the cornstarch dissolves completely.

Apply the mixture to your windows with a clean cloth, and wipe dry with a lint-free cloth or paper towel. When you wash glass with cornstarch, you won't have to deal with streaks and spots, and you can use it to clean both the inside and outside of your windows. What's more, cornstarch helps reduce static, which attracts dirt.
