4 qts. thinly sliced cucumbers
8 sm. thinly sliced onions
2 thinly sliced green prppers
1/2 c. salt
5 cups sugar
5 cups vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tblsps. mustard seeds
1 tsp. celery seed

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cucumbers, onions, green peppers and salt and bury in ice, leaving some ice on top. Weight with plate to hold down. Spread a towel over and let stand 3 hours. Drain well and ladle into jars.
Combine sugar, vinegar, turmeric, cloves, mustard seed and celery seed in a saucepan. Bring to boiling and ladle over pickles in jars. Seal tightly and cool overnight. Store on shelf.
