3 cups vinegar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 pints fresh small okra
1 hot pepper pod or 1/4 tsp. peppercorns
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. pickling spice

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except okra in saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Wash and trim okra. Drain. Place okra, ends up, in jars and cover with pickling liquid. Seal and cool at room temperature. Store on shelf. Refrigerate before serving.
