4 eggs
1/2 lbs. of butter
1 1/2 cups of sugar
3 1/2 cups of flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. lemon juice or peel
vanilla or anise
optional (1/2 cup of sliced almonds)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, flavoring and flour. (optional almonds).

Cover and refrigerate about 1/2 hour. Divide the dough into 4 loaves 1/2 in high and 2 inches wide. Grease hands to work dough.

Place on a greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (Note place pan on middle rack in oven).

Cut diagonal and arrange the slices on side in pan. Bake again until lightly toasted about 10 minutes. Repeat for other side of biscotti. (Note use bottom rack for browning).
