1/2 c. butter
1 c. dates, chopped fine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. rice krispies
1/4 c. maraschino cherries, chopped fine or candied cherries, chopped fine
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond flavoring
1/4 c. chopped nuts (I use pecans)
coconut
dash salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a cast iron skillet. Add dates and cook until dates start to fall apart. Cream eggs and sugar together and add to date mixture. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool then add rice krispies, fruit, nuts, salt and flavorings.

Roll into balls and roll in coconut. Store in tin containers and keep in refrigerator. Will keep for 1 month.
