1- 9" unbaked (deep dish) pie shell
4 eggs
2 c sugar
2/3 c butter/margarine (room temp)
1/2 c buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp plain flour (heaping)
1 tsp corn meal (plain)

1. Mix softened butter with sugar blend until smooth. 2. add: eggs (beaten), milk, and vanilla. 3. Mix in flour and cornmeal. 4. Pour all into uncooked pie shell.
preheat oven 450 ° 5. Place pie into oven and " watch closely". When pie barely begins to cook turn oven to 275° and continue to bake for 1 hour or until top becomes browned and firm.6. Do NOT serve warm. Pie has to sit and jell.

This was " Mama Maude's" (Bren Parks, grandmother's) recipe. She made it every Christmas. It's very rich like pecan pie. Great! cold out of the refrigerator.
