Personal Notes:
When I (Bren Parks)was a little girl my "Granny" Rosina Johnson, would sit me on the kitchen counter to watch and help make these cookies. She would tell me stories of her family; where they lived in Virginia, and how her brothers, uncles and father fought in the "Civil War". She would write about her life as a girl. She is the one that made me love to write and learn about history. Around Christmas time she would ice them with Red or Green "Hard Icing". Around Easter or Valentine's Day , she would ice them in Red or make Pastel colors.
