3 quarts water
2 large lemons, sliced
4 lbs (thawed) unpeeled large fresh shrimp (already deveined)
2 cups vegetable oil
1/2 cup hot sauce (can vary depending on your taste)
1 T minced garlic
1 T olive oil
1-1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp seafood seasoning
1-1/2 tsp dried basil
1-1/2 tsp dried oregano
1-1/2 tsp dried thyme
1-1/2 tsp minced fresh parsley

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water and lemon to a boil; add shrimp, and cook 3-5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Drain well. Place shrimp in a large, heavy-duty zip-top plasic bag. Combine vegetable oil and remaining ingredients; stir well, and pour over shrimp. Seal bag; marinate in refrigerator 8 hours or overnight. Drain before serving.

This was in a Southern Living Christmas Recipe book in 1994. I made this recipe a few years later on Christmas Day and now my son-in-law swears he won't show up for Christmas dinner unless I assure him that it is still in the line-up.
