1. Ritz or Club (crushed but not fine)
2. Hot rice (2 C raw rice)
3. Lettuce (shredded)
4. Taco chips (crushed)
5. 3 lbs grd beef, browned, add 1 jar Ragu sauce w/taco seasoning
6. Green pepper diced
7. Black Olives (sliced* or chopped)
8. Tomatoes, diced
9. Mushrooms, sliced
10. Onions diced
11. Sour Cream
12. Cheese sauce (recipe below)
13. Taco sauce (hot and/or mild)
CHEESE SAUCE:
3 T butter
3 T flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 C milk
1 1/2 C shredded cheese (cheddar)
Cook over very low heat, best in double boiler.

THIS IS GREAT FOR PARTIES: Line everything up on your counter or table and serve buffet style. As the person goes along he adds a spoonful or two of each ingredient and tops it off with taco sauce...if desired, thus the "Mexican Haystack." MAKE SURE EVERYONE STARTS with Crackers and then the rice, to form the bed of the haystack. Persons may eliminate a layer, if they dislike it.
