6 croissants
8 eggs
3 cups milk
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1/4 cup almond paste, cut into small cubes
1/2 cup almonds, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cut croissants into 1/2-inch pieces; place into a greased 9x13-inch pan; set aside. In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar and extracts. Pour over croissants; let stand for 10 minutes. Dot with almond paste; sprinkle with almonds. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Mom ate this bread pudding at The Washington House restaurant in Wisconsin. She enjoyed it so much that months later she took a chance and wrote a letter asking for their recipe. She was amazed when their pastry chef replied with a handwritten recipe card!
