1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. oatmeal
1 T. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder


Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream shortening, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
2. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well.
3. Add flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix (not completely).
4. Then add oatmeal and fully mix all ingredients.
5. Form into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet.
6. GENTLY flatten with fork or palm of hand.
7. Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes.
