3 cups finely diced apples
2/3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
pastry for top and bottom crust of a 9 inch pie

Directions:
Directions:
Mix apples, sugar, flour and spices together until well blended. Place mixture in unbaked pie shell. Place top crust on pie and squeeze the outer edges together all around the pie. Slit a few breathe holes in the top of the pie with a knife. Bake in a hot oven at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350F and continue baking for about 25 to 30 minutes longer until the crust is nicely browned.
