1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 pd. butter
3 tbsp. maple syrup
12 slices white bread
4 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
6 large eggs, beaten
2 c. milk
2 tbsp. vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Grease 13 x 9 baking dish
Combine brown sugar. butter and maple syrup in a small sauce pan. cook over medium heat stirring continually until brown sugar is dissolved and mixture is blended about two minutes.
Spread this caramel sauce over the bottom of the baking dish, arrange 6 bread slices on top if caramel sauce.
Mix the sugar cinnamon together in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the bread in the baking dish. Layer the remaining bread on top of the sugar mixture.
Combine eggs, milk and vanilla extract in a bowl and mix well. Pour over the bread. Cover with aluminum foil and let sit 15 minutes prior to baking.

Bake about 40 minutes.
