6 apples, cored and peeled
1 C. water
2 T. red hots
1/2 C. sugar
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar, salt, and water together. Boil hard. Add red hots and boil until red hots are dissolved. Put whole apples which have been cored and peeled into syrup and cook slowly until soft, turn to other side. Do not cook apples too long or they will fall to pieces. Remove from syrup, let cool and serve with a little whipped cream.
