c. vegetable shortening
c. sugar
c. molasses
1 egg
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
2. t. ground ginger
2 t. ground cinnamon
t. ground allspice
t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar with electric mixer.

2. Add molasses and egg, beat well.

3. With a spoon, stir in flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Dough will be stiff.

4. Cover and chill one hour.

5. Roll over dough on lightly floured cutting board to 1/4 inch thickness, Cut dough with cookie cutter.

6. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake in 350 oven for 10 minutes.

7. Frost with icing of your choice. We like cream cheese with these the best.
