2 strips bacon
1/3 c chopped onion
2 c diced raw potatoes
1/2 c diced carrots
2 c boiling water
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika
2 TBSP flour
2 c milk
1/8 tsp pepper
Opt: celery, parsley

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet and saute onions in grease until lightly browned. Add potatoes, carrots, bacon, boiling water and salt. Cover and cook until vegetables are tender, 8-10 minutes. Add other seasonings. Blend flour with 1/4 c milk. Add this and remaining milk to vegetable mixture stirring constantly. Heat until slightly thickened.
