1 cup butter
3 cups flour
3 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
6 eggs
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. soda
3 t. almond abstract

Directions:
Directions:
Combine buttermilk and soda in a dish larger than 1 cup. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and salt alternating with milk. Add almond abstract. Pour into greased and floured tube pan or bundt pan. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. Then increase temperature to 325 degrees and bake 15-20 minutes more. Check with toothpick to see if done. Usually cake is done earlier.
