1 1/2 Tblsp. yeast
2 Tblsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 cups warm water
4 cups white flour
1/2 cup hot water
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 Tblsp. shortening
2 cups whole wheat flour plus 1 cup whole wheat flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast, sugar, salt in 2 cups warm water
Add 4 cups white flour. Beat till smooth. Let rise till light and bubbly.
Mix hot water, brown sugar, shortening. Add to bubbly dough with 2 cups whole wheat flour. Gradually add about 1 cup whole wheat flour while kneading. Let rise till double.
Punch, divide and shape into 2 large or 3 medium loaves. Let rise again.
Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Very, very, very good bread!
