3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 cup quick cooking oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Beat firt 6 ingredients together until creamy. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Stir in oat and mix well. Drop by spoonful onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
