2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 sticks of softened butter
3 T. cocoa
1 cup coke cola
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups tiny marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla

Icing
1/2 cup melted butter
3 T. cocoa
6 T. coke cola
1 box of powdered sugar
1 cup of chopped nuts
mix all together and spread on that cook cake.

Directions:

Combine sugar and flour. Heat butter, cola and cocoa to a boil. Cool.
Pour in flour and sugar mixture in and stir. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Then add marshmallows. Pour into oblong cake pan.

Bake at 350º for 30 to 40 minutes.

Let cool. Then put that wonderful icing on. Let the icing sit up before cutting.

This is my oldest recipe. It came from my Great grandmother Giles, which is on my mom's side of the family. I didn't realize they had cola back that far but I guess they did. Hmmm.. wonder how much a bottle of soda pop was back then?
