Almond Bread Pudding Recipe

1 loaf French bread or 4 cups stale bread cubes
3 cups milk or Half-and-Half
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Place the bread in a large bowl and pour the milk over.
Let stand for 1 hour.
Heat oven to 325'.
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Beat the eggs, sugar and extracts together.
Combine with the bread crumbs.
(If the mixture is soupy, add up to 1 cup more bread cubes.)
Fold in the slivered almonds.
Spread the mixture in the baking pan and sprinkle with the sliced almonds.
Bake for 50 minutes, until golden and set.
