1-1/2 C. creamy peanut butter

Directions:
Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. In a bowl, mix peanut butter, butter, vanilla and sugar by hand until a smooth dough forms. Mixture will be stiff. Shape dough into small balls. Place on waxed paper and refrigerate. In a sauce pan, on low heat, melt the chocolate and shortening together stirring constantly to avoid scorching. Once melted, remove from flame, insert a toothpick into a peanut butter ball and dip half way up the ball - return to the waxed paper, resting on the chocolate. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm.
