l pound raisins stewed for 15 minutes in 2 cups of water
2 cups sugar
1 t each: cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, & salt
1 Tblsp baking soda
4 cups flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 cup chopped walnuts



Directions:
Directions:
Remove raisins from heat and add 1 cup water.
In a large bowl mix together the sugar and all the dry ingredient. Mix well.
Add the nuts and raisins with the water. Stir well. Put in a (sprayed) bunt pan or angel food pan. Bake at 350º for one hour, or until a "broom straw" comes out clean!

This recipe came from Bonnie Rogers via Steve's Great Grandmother. We like it better than Graham Cake--it is more moist.
Note: this cake contains NO eggs or oil!
