6-8 apples, peeled and cut up (enough to fill an 8" cake pan at least half full)
1 C flour
1 C sugar
1 t baking powder
1 egg
2 T sugar
2 T cinnamon
1/4 C water

Directions:
Directions:
Place cut up apples in the bottom of an greased 8" cake pan. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and egg. Spread over apples and sprinkle with 2 T of sugar and 2 T cinnamon. Cover with thin slices of butter. Add 1/4 C water. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Leave uncovered after baking.

This recipe can be doubled, using a 9x12" cake pan and longer baking time until toothpick comes out of cake clean.
