3 egg whites

4 tbsp. sugar

¼ c. cream of tartar

½ tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Blend egg whites with cream of tartar. Beat until frothy or soft peaks. Gradually beat in sugar, a little at a time.
Continue beating until stiff and glossy. Pour meringue onto pie filling, being careful to seal the meringue onto edge of crust to prevent shrinking. Bake at 400º for 8 to 10 minutes.
