1 Rutabaga medium to large
1/4 -1/2 tsp Sugar or to taste
Salt to taste

Directions:

Peel and dice rutabaga into 3/4" to 1" cubes. Place in pan large enough to cover with water.
Sprinkle salt and sugar. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until fork tender.

This little trick of adding sugar was passed on to me by my Mother in Law, Corrine Mixson. Depending on the time of year often dictates how much sugar you need or if you need any at all. Peak of season and smaller ones usually don't require any sugar. The sugar takes the "bitter bite" out of them.
