Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups buttermilk
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare two or three round baking pans or a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick baking spray.

Cream together butter and sugar until a light yellow in color, about 2-3 minutes. Incorporate eggs one at a time, being sure they are fully incorporated before adding the next. Then, incorporate egg yolks the same.

Whisk together salt, baking powder, and flour in a large mixing bowl. Spoon half of the mixture into the butter mixture and stir until combined. Add half of the buttermilk, then add the remainder of the flour mixture, followed by the rest of the buttermilk. Stir in the vanilla.

Divide the cake batter between the baking pans, or pour all of it into the 9x13-inch pan.

For the 8-inch round pans bake for about 25 minutes. For the 9-inch round pans bake for 30 minutes. And for the 9x13-inch baking pan bake for 35 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool about 8 to 10 minutes in the pans. Then, turn the cakes out on cooling racks to cool completely.
