4 eggs, separated
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cocoa
1 c. blackberry jam or jelly
1 c. raisins
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk

Directions:

Beat egg yolks; add in baking soda, sugars, and butter. Add spices and cocoa. Add jam or jelly and raisins. Add flour and buttermilk alternately. Beat egg whites; fold in. Preheat oven to 350º. Bake in pan(s) until done.
