1 cup steel cut oats
3 1/2 cups water
1 cup peeled and chopped apple
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, Pumpkin pie spice or Apple Pie spice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Place the steel cut oats, water, apple, butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla extract into a slow cooker, and stir to combine and dissolve the sugar. Cover the cooker, SET TO "KEEP WARM" and cook 6 to 8 hours. Alternatively, if you like crip apples in your oatmeal, just add them in the morning.

Usually slow-cooked oat recipie have instructions to set your crockpot on low. This will make the outside crispy and the inside mushy. If you have a crockpot with a KEEP WARM setting, use it! Trust me :)
