1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. Italian sausage
1 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. garlic salt
2 tsp. oregano
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato sauce w/bits (or diced tomatoes or whatever is available these days)
2 tsp. vinegar
9 lasagna noodles
3/4 lb. mozzarella cheese slices
Grated Romano cheese
1 pint dry cottage cheese (or rinse liquid from cottage cheese in colander)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat, onion, salt, oregano. Add tomato and vinegar. Simmer 30 minutes. Boil noodles until al dente, pat dry in paper towels.

Grease pan (9 x 13 or two smaller pans). Arrange 3 alternate layers:
Layer of 3 noodles
Cottage cheese
Meat sauce
Mozzarella cheese

For the top layer, sprinkle Romano cheese before adding mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes. Let stand 10-15 minutes after baking.
