8-10 Italian sausage links
1/2 medium size sweet onion, chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1 large can crushed tomatoes in puree
1 small can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1 can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
2 bay leaves
1 package sub rolls
8 - 10 slices Provolone cheese

Directions:
Directions:
In crock pot - layer onions, bell pepper, & sausage. Pour in all tomato products & top with spices* Stir lightly, just enough to get the tomato paste & spices distributed in sauce. Place bay leaves on top of sauce & cook on LOW for 6 - 8 hours. Remove bay leaves from sauce. Place sausage in a bun & pour extra sauce over it, then top with cheese

* place Bay leaves aside until ready to start crock pot.

Very rich meal. The best side for this is a serving of plain Lay's potato chips. Since you will more than likely have extra sauce - you can store it in the freezer for later use. I usually cut the left over sausage into bite size pieces & freeze the sauce. This makes an excellent spaghetti sauce for another night.
